Senior Partner and Chief Investment Strategist, Verno Capital


Roland Nash joined Verno Capital in early 2011 as Partner and Chief Investment Strategist. At Verno, Roland is responsible for helping to build out the fund management business and for the macroeconomic overlay for the hedge fund. Between 2003 and 2010, he was Chief Strategist and Head of Research for Renaissance Capital, managing a team of analysts for the CIS and Africa. He began his career in Renaissance Capital in 1996 as Chief Economist, and during his time there worked as Head of Fixed Income Research, Head of Equities Research, and co-Head of the Equities Group. Between 2003 and 2010, Roland was consistently ranked as the Number 1 Strategist for Russia by Institutional Investor. Between 2007 and 2010, Roland was also ranked Number 1 Strategist for EMEA. Prior to joining Renaissance Capital, Roland spent two years as a senior economic expert at the Russian European Centre for Economic Policy (RECEP), where he was involved in advising the Russian government on economic policy. Roland is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum for the Russian Federation. He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, where he received a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
